Unique Crochet Blanket Pattern Construction

The Kaleidoscope chunky blanket crochet pattern has a really fun and unique construction.

You can’t probably see it instantly when looking at the finished blanket but It is made out of 8 squares sewed together. Stitches are then picked up along the long sides to crochet the main color side bands.

Each square is worked in one piece. First, a triangle is crocheted, stitches are then picked up along the side to crochet the next triangle. Continuing in this manner the square is formed. Don’t worry, the pattern below includes step-by-step pictures to guide you. This way the beautiful hdc texture has a different direction in each triangle.

And the blanket is completely reversible, it looks exactly the same on both sides which is always a plus for a blanket!
