This aircon scarf is a simple summer free knit scarf pattern with a twist: some simple lace sections are added to this simple garter stitch scarf. Don’t panic, these lace sections are very easy and beginner-friendly.
This simple, yet elegant design combined with the cotton yarn is exactly what you need to fight the aircon during the summer. On top of that, it goes with any outfit. I always have mine in my handbag just in case.

The yarn I choose for this summer scarf pattern is LionBrand 24/7 cotton yarn. It’s a nice and sturdy worsted weight cotton yarn. It’s very comfortable and easy to work with. I absolutely love the charcoal color (check out the Sunshine Crop Sweater which uses the same yarn if you’re not convinced yet).

Before you Start
Materials
- 6 mm knitting needles. I’m using this basic set of double pointed needles I love in the step by step pictures but you don’t need them. You can use straight needles or circular needles if you prefer.
- Lion Brand 24/7 cotton yarn. You need 2 100g skeins ( 340 m / 372 yards) in charcoal color.
- Tapestry needle to weave in the ends. I love this set as it has different eye sizes for different yarn thickness and it comes in a small tube which is very convenient so I don’t lose them.
- T pins for blocking.
