A lot of my designs come from my favorite pieces in my own wardrobe. I like making things I already know I love to wear. Meadow Mist Cardigan knit pattern is one of these! More Summer Sleeveless Cardigan Patterns
This summer knit cardigan pattern has a similar construction to some of my favorite crochet cardigans like the June Cardigan, the Ariel Cardigan and the Marguerite Cardigan as well as the knit Seabreeze beach cover up pattern, but with its own unique touch featuring a pretty lace flower detail. They all have similar construction concepts but different yarn weights and stitch patterns and can be easily adjusted for different lengths and sizes.




Before You Start Your Summer Meadow Mist Knit Cardigan Pattern
Materials
- 4 mm / US 6 circular knitting needles
- Lion Brand Coboo (100g, 50% cotton, 50% bamboo, 232 yds / 212 m): you will need 3 (3, 4, 4, 4) (5, 5, 5, 6) skeins in Mauve color.
- Tapestry needle to weave in the ends.
Size
The cardigan is available in the following sizes: XS to 5XL. Sizes are noted throughout the pattern in the following way: XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL). The pictures illustrate the L size.
The cardigan final measurements are:
- XS: 84 cm / 33”
- S: 92 cm / 36.25”
- M: 104 cm / 41”
- L: 112 cm / 44”
- XL: 124 cm / 48.75”
- 2XL: 132 cm / 52”
- 3XL: 144 cm / 56.75”
- 4XL: 152 cm / 60”
- 5XL: 164 cm / 65.5”
The cardigan length is 71 cm / 28”.
You can easily adjust the length to your desired length, just add/remove a multiple of 14 stitches to the panel’s cast on. Make sure to make the same adjustment to both panels.
Gauge
The gauge for this pattern, in stockinette stitch, is 16 st by 28.5 rows for a 10 cm by 10 cm square (4” by 4”).
Note: Bamboo has a tendency to grow a lot! Make sure your swatch is big enough and you block it. Gauge and all dimensions are given blocked. Take note of your pre-blocking and blocked gauge and calculate accordingly.
Abbreviations & Instructions
- st = stitch
- k = knit
- p = purl
- k2tog = knit 2 stitches together
- ssk = slip 2 stitches knitwise, knit these 2 stitches together through back
loops; single left-leaning decrease - yo = yarn over
- sl2p = slip 2 stitches purlwise
- p2sso = pass 2 slipped stitches over
Repeat instructions between [] the indicated number of times or until the end of the round/row.
The final number of stitches is indicated at the end of the round/row between < >
Cardigan Construction
The cardigan is worked in 2 long panels which are then sewed together. Each panel is worked lengthwise in rows back and forth.

The Actual Summer Knit Cardigan Pattern
With your 4 mm / US 6 needles cast on 231 st using the long tail cast on or your preferred cast on method.
To form a neat edge use a sl1p to start every row. Check out this video if you’re not sure how it’s done.
Row 1 – 2: Knit across.
Row 3: K1, [yo, k2tog] across.
Row 4 – 6: Purl across.
Row 7: P10, knit until last 10 st, purl across.
Row 8: Purl across.
Row 9: P10, [k5, ssk, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, k4] until last 11 st, k1, purl across
Row 10: Purl across
Row 11: P10, [k6, yo, sl2p, k1, p2sso, yo, k5] until last 11 st, k1, purl across
Row 12: Purl across
Row 13: P10, [k5, ssk, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, k4] until last 11 st, k1, purl across.
Row 14: Purl across.
Row 15- 16: Repeat Row 7-8.
Row 17 – 18: Sl1k, p9, knit until last 10 st, purl across.
Row 19 – 22: Repeat Row 3 – 6.
Repeat Row 7 – 8 for 7 (9, 12, 14, 17) (19, 22, 24, 27) cm / 2.75 (3.5, 4.75, 5.5, 6.75) (7.5, 8.5, 9.5, 10.5)” / 20 (26, 34, 40, 48) (54, 62, 68, 76) rows.
Repeat Row 1 – 22.
Cast off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Blocking
You are done with the knitting part. Make sure to weave in all the ends.
To make your cardigan even prettier, help even out your stitches, open up your lace flower, etc. carefully block your panels to final dimensions. Make sure not to outstretch it as bamboo can be stretched easily,

Assembly
Place both panels next to each other with the right side up.

Sew both panels together lengthwise up to 62 cm / 24.5”.
Sew up the sides up to 45 cm / 17.75”.
Weave in the ends.
