Before You Start The Starry Night Free Knitting Pattern

Materials
- 6.5 mm / US 10.5 knitting needles
- Chunky weight yarn: WeCrochet Wool of the Andes Bulky (100% superwash wool, 100g/3.5oz, 125m/137yd): You will need about 85g/106m/116yd in Persimmon Heather
- Tapestry needle
Size
For sections where the stitch instructions are different for the different sizes, the size instructions are given in as follows: throw (lapghan).
The Stripe section is approximately 10 cm / 4” high and 127 (102) cm / 50 (40)” wide.
The starry night stitch requires a multiple of 10 + 9.
Abbreviations & Instructions
- st = stitch
- k = knit (k 2 means knit 2 stitches)
- p = purl
- sl1p = slip 1 stitch purlwise
- p3tog = purl 3 stitches together
- LH = left hand
Repeat instructions between [] the indicated number of times or until the end of the row.
Repeat instructions from * as indicated.
The final number of stitches is indicated at the end of the row between < >.

Special Stitches
Knot = wyif p3tog leaving these st on LH needle, then wyib knit the same stitches together, then wyif p3tog the same stitches again and slide them off your LH needle.

Row 1: Sl1p, k across. <181 (151)>
Row 2: Sl1p, k5, purl until last 6 st, k6.
Row 3 – 4: Repeat Row 1 – 2.
Row 5: Sl1p, k9, [k7, knot] to last 11 st, k11.
Row 6: Sl1p, k5, purl until last 6 st, k6.
Row 7 – 10: Repeat Row 1 – 2.
Row 11: Sl1p, k7, [knot, k7] to last 9 st, k9.
Row 12: Sl1p, k5, purl until last 6 st, k6.
Repeat Row 1 – 8
