Before You Start The Trail of Arrows Free Knitting Pattern

Materials
- 6.5 mm / US 10.5 knitting needles
- Chunky weight yarn: WeCrochet Wool of the Andes Bulky (100% superwash wool, 100g/3.5oz, 125m/137yd): You will need about 85g/106m/116yd in Fjord Heather
- Tapestry needle
Size
For sections where the stitch instructions are different for the different sizes, the size instructions are given in as follows: throw (lapghan).
The Stripe section is approximately 10 cm / 4” high and 127 (102) cm / 50 (40)” wide.
The Trail of Arrows stitch requires a multiple of 8 + 5 stitches. An additional 4 (6) stitches is worked into the garter stitch edge for this section so the repeat work out nicely.
Abbreviations & Instructions
- st = stitch
- k = knit (k 2 means knit 2 stitches)
- p = purl
- wyif = with yarn in front
- sl = slip
- sl1p = slip 1 stitch purlwise
- sl5p = slip 5 stitches purlwise
- RH = Right hand needle
- LH = Left hand needle
Repeat instructions between [] the indicated number of times or until the end of the row.
The final number of stitches is indicated at the end of the row between < >.

The Actual Blanket Section Free Knitting Pattern
Row 1: Sl1p, knit across. <181 (151) st>
Row 2: Sl1p, k7 (8), [p5, k3] until last 13 (14) st, p5, k8 (9).
Row 3: Sl1p, k7 (8), wyif sl5p, [k3, wyif sl5p] until last 8 (9) st, k8 (9).

Row 4: Repeat Row 2
Row 5: Sl1p, k5 (6), [k4, insert RH needle under strand 2 rows below, k next st on LH needle, drawing loop through st on needle and under strand in one motion, k3] until last 7 (8) st, k7 (8).


Row 6 – 25: Repeat Row 2 – 5 five times
Row 26: Repeat Row 2 one more time.
