Before You Start Your Knit Blanket Pattern
Materials
- 6 mm/ US10 knitting needles. I use circular needles for convenience but you can use straight needles.

- Yak Wool Worsted weight yarn (50% cashmere, 25% yak wool, 25% acrylic, 240m /262yd, 100g): 5 (11, 12, 15, 28, 46, 49, 55) skeins in Dark Cyan.
Note: You can easily substitute with any thick worsted weight yarn.
- Tapestry needle to weave in the ends. I love this set as it has different eye sizes for different yarn thicknesses and it comes in a small tube which is very convenient so I don’t lose them.

The knit blanket pattern is written for the following sizes:

You can easily adapt the size to your desired project size. The stitch pattern needs a multiple of 10 + 2 number of stitches.

Gauge
The gauge for this pattern, in wave stitch pattern is 14 st by 19 rows for a 10 cm by 10 cm square (4” by 4”).

Abbreviations & Instructions
- st = stitch
- k = knit (k 2 means knit 2 stitches)
- p = purl
- sl1p = slip 1 stitch purlwise
Repeat instructions between [] the indicated number of times or until the end of the round/row.
The final number of stitches is indicated at the end of the round/row between < >.
The Actual Free Knit Blanket Pattern
With your 6 mm / US 10 needles, cast on 104 (154,164, 184, 234, 324, 344, 384) st.
Row 1: Sl 1 st purlwise, k across.
Repeat Row 1 until you reach 7 cm / 2.75″.

Row 4: Sl1p, k10, purl until last 11 st, k11.
Row 5: Sl1p, k10, [k5, p2, k3] until last 13 st, k13.

- The white dots are garter stitch (knit on both sides) edges
- The white squares are knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side.
- The black dots are purl on the right side and knit on the wrong side.
Repeat Rows 5 to 12 until you reach 82 (125, 146, 151, 222, 268, 268, 268) cm / 32.25 (49.25, 57.25, 59.25, 87.25, 105.25, 105.25, 105.25)”.
Repeat Row 1 for 7 cm / 2.75″.
Cast off and weave in the ends.
Blocking and Assembly
You’re done with the knitting part. Make sure to weave in all the ends.
