Zennia Garden Crochet Blanket Square Pattern
Yarn
Worsted weight (# 4) yarn, 75yds
Sample was created in Red Heart Super Saver in Frosty Green (MC) and Hot Red (CC) (7oz/364yds, 100% acrylic)
Size
8 inches x 8 inches (20 x 20 cm)
Hook
US Size G (4mm) or whatever hook size is needed to achieve gauge
Gauge
16 sts x 8 rows = 4in (10 cm) in DC Blocked
Special Sts
Flower
Rotating work as needed, work (dc, picot) 5 times down to the post of the next dc one row below.
Then work (dc, picot) up the post of the previous dc post one row below, dc in the same post
Picot
Ch3, slst into second chain from hook, ch1

- CC – Contrast Color
- Fdc – Foundation Double Crochet

Pattern is written in US terminology
Make sure not to skip any stitches on the flower rows, be sure to resume work into the same dc you used to start the flower.

Row 1: With MC FDC 30sts
Row 2 (WS): CSDC, dc across
Row 3 (RS): CSDC, dc across
Row 4: CSDC, dc across
Row 5: CSDC, dc 4, *with CC make a flower, switch to MC working behind the flower dc 10, repeat from * across ending with MC to dc 5
Rows 6 – 8: same as Row 4
Row 9: CSDC, dc 9, *with CC make a flower, switch to MC working behind the flower dc 10, repeat from * across ending with MC to dc 10
Rows 10 – 12: Same as Row 4
Row 13: CSDC, dc 4, *with CC make a flower, switch to MC working behind the flower dc dc, repeat from * across ending with MC to dc 5.
Rows 14 – 16: same as Row 4
Fasten off and break the yarn
Finishing
Weave in ends and block gently to the measurement of 8 x 8 inches (20 x 20 cm).
