The Actual Free Crochet Blanket Border Pattern
Starting with oyster heather on the WS in the middle of the last row.
Round 1: Hdc around making 1 st in every stitch of the top and bottom edges and 252 st per side (about 4 per 2.5 cm / 1 inch) + 3 in each corner (mark the middle st), for a total of 936 st, join in the round and turn.
Note: The exact stitch count doesn’t matter for the following round repeats so you don’t need to worry if you are a few stitches off.
Switch to brass heather.
Round 2: Ch 1, [hdc until marked st, hdc 3 in marked st] around, hdc until end of round, turn.
Round 3: Ch 1, [blo hdc until marked st, blo hdc 3 in marked st] around, blo hdc until end of round, turn.
Switch to Fjord heather and repeat Rounds 2 and 3 twice.
Blocking
You’re done with the crocheting part. Make sure to weave in all the ends.
To make your blanket even prettier, soften your fabric and flatten your edges, block your project.
Don’t skip this step as it can make a huge difference. Read my detailed tutorial on why block, how-to, and all my tips and tricks if you need help.
