Want to add some color to your space? Try this fun, textured crochet blanket pattern!

It is actually a very easy crochet pattern.

Combining two crochet stitches inspired by geometry, this pattern is easily customized with color and is a wonderful addition to any blanket collection. The featured stitches were inspired by Greek friezes with a bobble texture alternated with plain sections of simple lightly textured stitches. It makes for an easy project with a beautiful, rich history!

A Multi-color Crochet Blanket Pattern for any Style

Depending on the over feel you want for your multi-color crochet blanket, you can combine colors in different ways,

If you’re looking for a fun, bright, pop of color, you can go for a mix of bright colors like I’ve done in this sample but if you prefer a more muted version you could use a very light neutral (off white, very light grey or beige) as the main color and darker neutral colors (brown, greys, navy blue, etc) for the contrast color.

Or something in between, a light neutral as main color, and fun colors for the contrasting colors.

Alternatively you could also use just 2 colors and have all the bobble sections be in the same color.

To me, it would look best with the lighter colors for the simple texture sections and darker colors for the bobble sections but of course, whatever you like goes!

A Striped Crochet Blanket Pattern Inspired by History

The multi-color sections of this textured crochet blanket pattern are inspired by Greek friezes. A wide stripe of simple repetitive geometry to punctuate the blanket. Instead of having a multi-color frieze I chose to highlight the geometric pattern with texture instead of colorwork, bobble stitches are perfect for that. Fun and easy, they are super versatile to combine into any shape and pattern.
