Looking for an easy crochet blanket pattern, with cozy texture and a striped design? Look no further!

The Amity crochet blanket pattern is what you need! It’s designed in worsted weight yarn, my favorite yarn weight for blankets. It’s the perfect balance between a warm & cozy but not too bulky blanket and doesn’t take forever to finish.

It comes in 9 sizes so you have all the flexibility to make this easy crochet blanket for anyone. Think cute nursery colors for a baby shower gift, an adult throw for a cozy night in front of the fireplace, full queen or even king-size for a beautiful bedspread.

The amity striped crochet blanket pattern is the perfect opportunity to combine colors. You can work each stripe in a different color or alternate a smaller amount of colors, let your creativity run loose!

Before you Start your Easy Blanket Crochet Pattern

For the Harmony Throw Collaborative Blanket (Part 8)

The Amity blanket section is designed as part of the Harmony Throw Blanket CAL. It’s a gorgeous throw blanket designed in strips of 12.5 cm / 5” high (follow the Throw size instructions below and make one repeat (Rows 17 – 32).

Each section is worked over 192 stitches. In between each section we recommend you work 2 rows of single crochet.

Size

The Amity Blanket crochet pattern comes in 9 blanket sizes: lovey, baby, receiving, toddler, throw, twin, double, queen and king. Sizes are noted lovey (baby, receiving, toddler, throw, twin, double, queen, king) throughout the pattern.

The pictures illustrate the throw size.

If you want to adjust the blanket width you can add / remove a multiple of 11 stitches.

And if you want to adjust the blanket length, each stripe is 12.5 cm / 5” high.

Materials

  • Lionbrand Pound of Love (100% Premium Acrylic, 454 g / 16 oz, 932 m / 1020 yd). You will need a total of approximately 59 (629, 994, 1366, 1800, 3473, 5758, 6325, 7081) g / 122 (1291, 2040, 2805, 3695, 7130, 11820, 12984, 14537) m / 133 (1413, 2233, 3070, 4044, 7804, 12936, 14210, 15909) yd.
  • Tapestry needle

Note: Each stripe requires 30 (90, 124, 124, 150, 193, 262, 288, 322) g / 61 (184, 255, 255, 308, 396, 537, 590, 661) m / 67 (202, 279, 279, 337, 434, 588, 646, 723) yd of yarn. Depending on how many colors you want to work with and how many stripes of each color you want to make you can easily calculate the yarn requirements for each color.

For the sample shown in the pictures I used 5 colors:

  • Elephant grey (color A)
  • White (color B)
  • Dark grey (color C)
  • Brown (color D)
  • Red (color E)

And alternated them as follows (throw size): A, B, C, D, E, D, C, B, A, B, C, D.

Gauge

The gauge for this pattern, in alternating rows of sc and dc, is 15 st by 10 rows for a 10 cm by 10 cm / 4” by 4” square.

This pattern uses US notations.

  • st = stitch
  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • tr = treble crochet

Notes

The final number of stitches is indicated at the end of the row / round between < >.

The turning ch 1 and ch 2 don’t count as stitches throughout the pattern except if mentioned otherwise.

The pattern is written in crochet shorthand.  For example:

To make your blanket even prettier and help even your stitches block your blanket.
